ØProvide information and education to children and youth regarding mental illness and addictions.
ØProvide counseling, assessment and referrals for children and youth populations.
ØBe capable of assessing and responding to high risk children and youth. Knowledge of crisis intervention and applicable legislation pertaining to children.
ØExperience with case management and child advocacy models.
ØExperience providing services within First Nations communities.
ØFacilitate linkages to community providers and local agencies.
ØMaintain accurate and timely client data in accordance with program requirements.
ØPerform additional functions as required.
Qualifications:
ØUniversity degree preferably in social work (or psychology). College diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with experience in children services will also be considered.
ØRequirement of at least 2 years experience in counseling children and youth.
ØAbility to deal with crisis and post-crisis situations.
ØExcellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills.
ØExcellent computer skills.
ØKnowledge of the Anishinabe culture and language.
ØAbility to work both independently and as a team member.
ØApplicants should possess a valid driver’s license/insurance, have a vehicle and be willing to travel when required.
ØCurrent satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector search.
