Responsibilities:
- The Geotechnical Engineer’s key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide practical approaches and cost effective solutions
- Be adept at a variety of investigations, stabilization and mitigation strategies for unstable slopes and soils in a wet environment
- Work as a team member within the Engineering department
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers and techs.
- Ability to develop appropriate work scope, schedule and budget for a variety of civil, construction andgeotechnical solutions.
- Perform investi gations and evaluations to develop design recommendations and assist in the preparation of design plans and specifications
- Oversee the onsite ground control management program, shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability analysis, subgrade evaluations, soil and hard rock cut slope designs, preparation of geotechnical engineering reports, task/ project management, and the preparation of technical and price proposals
- Liase with consulting engineers to ensure appropriate guidelines and measures are in place to maintain pit walland dump stability
