Reporting to the office manager, the Transportation Driver will be responsible for providing ground transportation of Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre clients and escorts from within Southern Treaty 3 catchment. The Driver will provide general outreach for clients as well as perform routine maintenance and upkeep of the passenger vans.
The salary for this position ranges from $22.60 - $26.58 per hour.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid G or F class Driving license
The ability to perform the requirements of the position on a regular basis
The ability to work flexible hours, including shift work that might include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Must possess a minimum of five years of driving experience, from having a valid and unrestricted full driving license
Any further driving training such as Defensive Driving, Driving with Dangerous Goods, would be an asset
Experience working in a transportation environment would be an asset but full training will be provided
Experience in frontline Customer Service working in a fast-paced environment
Written and oral communication skills acceptable to the employer that meet the requirements of the role of Transportation Driver
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) — Current certification in the proper handling, transportation, offering or importing of goods labelled as Dangerous by the government.
Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially.
Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, Driver’s Abstract and proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
Ability to speak Ojibway and prior experience in working with Aboriginal people, a definite asset.
Experience and understanding of local Indigenous communities and culture within the Southern Region of Treaty #3.
