The role of Portable Crusher Supervisor is a safety-sensitive position responsible for the effective management of mobile crushing operations in an open pit mining environment. Responsible for the successful implementation and oversight of the crushing plant, which includes a primary jaw crusher and cone secondary crusher circuit layout. This role involves coordinating the development and execution of crusher budgeted tons and achieving the desired product size distribution. It also requires collaboration with fixed maintenance personnel to ensure optimal equipment performance. The position entails reviewing and recommending potential production improvement strategies to meet or exceed production objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear and concise communication regarding the daily work plans to the crews.
Ensure safety compliance through consistent engagement with employees and contractors, leading PSI and PASS meetings, participating in JHSC meetings when required, and enforcing health and safety policies.
Manage Portable Crusher operations, collaborating with Fixed Maintenance during shutdowns and major maintenance programs.
Lead cross-functional teams, aligning with Environment, Mine Operations, TMA, and Safety to optimize production and safety and achieve operational excellence at the lowest cost.
Maintain environmental standards by ensuring compliance with operational standards and mitigation of dust emissions.
Support production targets by proactively planning and executing maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure preventative maintenance is prioritized.
Streamline change implementation across Production, Crushing, and Process teams to maximize benefits and minimize detrimental impacts.
Optimize shift changeovers through clear communication and coordination with peers, establishing efficient operating conditions and targets.
To be able to order and track inventory, providing weekly reports.
Qualifications
Driver’s license is require-must have minimum of class G2 license, or equivalent from a Canadian jurisdiction.
Five years of experience in the mining industry, with leadership roles or Portable Crushing experience being an asset
Ability to lead a team, communicate effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong work ethic, dedication to safety, and passion for continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
Must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to assist other crew members.
In addition, the successful candidate will possess:
Demonstrated skills in communication, organization, leadership, and Microsoft Office Suite
experience, preferably in an industrial construction environment
